God”s Plan

Today we visited my mom. She was happy to see us for 5 to 10 minutes, but then she sent us away. She wanted us to find the doctor so she could be allowed to leave.

I hated leaving her there, but I know she is being taken care of. She has food, shelter and people to visit with. They make her feel useful as she helps out with setting the table or just plain helping others. It may not be much, but I’m sure her actions puts a smile of God’s face.

The season is now in winter with snow on the ground and temps hovering in the twenties. A lot can happen to her if she isn’t watched all the time. We live next door, but she has always been one to go outside without a coat to visit us. If she does that now, with her mind the way it is, she could get easily disorientated. She could fall down and freeze to death. Imagine the guilt that would come with that decision if I brought her home. That alone would lead me down the wrong path of intense guilt.

Is there a bright lining to this message today? Yes, I believe there is. God is in control. He knows how this will all play out even before it happens. I can worry and fret, but He already has the answer. It may not be what I want, but I trust God to have the best solution for all this. The answer was written before the foundations of the world, and it has remained unchanged. Because God knew each one of us, He also knows our life’s story. He is the author of our lives and the entire worlds’ of creation.
